Centralia City Light Seeks Formalization of Mutual-Aid Agreement with Other Utilities (KELA Radio, Centralia, WA)

(CENTRALIA) – The January ice storm left local utility crews scrambling to restore downed power lines as people huddled inside chilly and darkened homes. It was bad enough that Centralia City Light had to rely on the graces of neighboring utilities to help restore the power.  Now, utility leaders want to help shore up partnerships with other utilities should something like that happen again. Centralia City Hall is being asked to formalize a mutual-aid agreement with other power providers including the Lewis County PUD.
