Mega-Metal Thieves Strike Mossyrock Dam (KELA Radio, Centralia, WA)

(MOSSYROCK) – Metal thieves are blamed for a big theft at the Mossyrock dam.  They made off with heavy pieces of equipment that’s used to cool generators.  The six foot tall pieces of machinery were taken from a warehouse near the dam owned and operated by Tacoma Power.  A number of nuts and bolts were also stolen.  The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office says someone cut chains to get through a fence and then peeled back sheet metal to get inside the warehouse.  The total estimate for the loss is still be tabulated.
