Your Lewis County PUD electric bill goes up May 1. It’s a 5-percent rate hike. It’s
after a previous 8-percent increase last fall. The PUD’s Bob Geddes says the increases were
split to lessen the blow on customers. Geddes says they’re from the previous
voter approved initiative requiring additional use of renewable power.
Centralia City Light has also been increasing rates for the last two summers.
The final 5.5 percent rate increase will take effect this summer.
