Copper Metal Targeted by Thieves, Again (KELA Radio, Centralia, WA)

(CENTRALIA) – Local police blotters have recently been filled with instances of metal thieves damaging equipment at area businesses to get copper wiring.  There were two such cases just this week in the Centralia area.  Even worse, the businesses are left facing big repair bills while the metal thieves often just get a few bucks.   A local police official notes metal theft rises and falls with recycling prices.  It’s a crime that’s closely associated with drug use.
