Wind Advisory for Hood Canal Area - Noon to Midnight (National Weather Service, Seattle)

A vigorous frontal system will bring windy conditions to the central and north Washington coast today and this evening, and to the north Puget Sound and north interior of western Washington this afternoon and evening. Local sustained winds of 30 to 35 mph and gusts of 45 to 50 mph are likely.

Wind advisory in effect for the north Puget Sound and north interior from noon today to midnight tonight.

The National Weather Service in Seattle has issued a wind advisory, which is in effect from noon today to midnight tonight.

Some affected locations: Hoodsport, Everett, Edmonds, Bellingham, Blaine, Anacortes, Friday Harbor, east Puget Sound, Port Townsend.
  • Timing: winds will increase this morning and reach their peak this afternoon and evening.
  • Wind: local sustained winds of 30 to 35 mph and gusts of 45 to 50 mph are likely.
  • Impacts: while winds of this strength should not cause widespread damage, they can bring down small trees and branches with local power outages.
  • Instructions:   a wind advisory is issued when sustained winds of 30 to 39 mph or gusts of 45 to 57 mph are likely.
